Load management at the e-truck fast charging station in Kölliken North

A technical milestone with a future - the opening of Kölliken Nord
‍History
was made in Kölliken Nord onMay 15, 2025: SOCAR set a clear signal for the future of electrified heavy goods transport with the grand opening of the first fast charging station for e-trucks on the A1. Around 60 guests from politics, administration and the energy and transport industry gathered in the best spring weather - including numerous media representatives. The event not only offered space for exchange and networking, but also marked the official start of a new era in the logistics sector.

A location with a signal effect - also for CLEMAP
‍The
new charging station with an output of up to 400 kW is optimally designed to meet the needs of electric trucks. Strategically located on one of Switzerland's most important transport axes, Kölliken Nord will become a central hub for emission-free freight transport. CLEMAP is delighted to be able to provide technological support for this ambitious project: Our intelligent measurement and energy management solutions provide the necessary transparency regarding energy flows, enable load management - and thus create the basis for efficient, economical and grid-compatible operation of the charging infrastructure.

Anchoring, change and international perspective
At the official opening, Matthias Eisenhauer, Director Retail at SOCAR Energy Switzerland, categorized the station as an important building block in the planned charging network in his welcome speech. Mirjam Bossard, Vice President of Kölliken Municipal Council, emphasized the importance of local roots, entrepreneurial commitment and reliable cooperation between public and private stakeholders in her subsequent welcoming speech. Ambassador Fuad Isgandarov followed on from this and placed SOCAR's commitment in a larger context: The company, once a classic fuel provider, is now actively contributing to the transformation of mobility - and thus reflects the transformative development direction of Azerbaijan itself, he said.

From talk to action
The discussion was followed by the practical part: the commissioning of the new fast-charging station. The moment when the first electric truck was charged at the Kölliken Nord station was followed with great interest by the guests - both as a technical signal and as a visible symbol of what is actually possible.

The eTruck charging station in the charging process

For CLEMAP, Kölliken Nord is a successful example of how intelligent load management can be a key element of the transport transition. Projects like this create trust - not only among transport companies, but also among energy suppliers, grid operators and politicians.

CLEMAP load management controls the Alpitronic charging stations via the Modbus TCP interface. The operator SOCAR can remotely monitor and adjust the status of the charging stations, the charging processes and the performance data. Load management makes it possible to avoid load peaks, optimally distribute the charging power to the charging points and, if necessary, prioritize the e-truck charging station higher in load management.

A start with substance
The opening in Kölliken was more than just a symbolic act. It showed what is possible when companies, authorities and politicians work together in a targeted manner - and that progress can also be made in heavy goods traffic. The opening in Kölliken was not the end, but the beginning. SOCAR is already planning further locations, and CLEMAP will continue to assist with digital solutions. Because only if data, infrastructure and energy interact intelligently will the ramp-up of electromobility in heavy goods transport succeed - pragmatically, efficiently and scalably.
