How it works

CLEMAP Load Management consists of two components that work together seamlessly:

Hardware: Measuring and control device

Records power consumption at the house connection in real time, dynamically distributes the available power to the charging points, and communicates directly with AC and DC charging stations. It can also process grid signals from the distribution network operator via digital inputs and outputs.

Software: Floem Dashboard

Operators can keep track of everything in the online dashboard: monitor charging points, set priorities, integrate solar power, or adjust the available power. Optionally, the cloud connection enables remote access, reporting, and billing.

Versions of CLEMAP Load Management

CLEMAP Load Management is options in three options – depending on what your existing infrastructure needs and how much flexibility you want.

Dynamic load management without integrated measuring device

If you already use your own measuring devices (e.g. Janitza, your own current transformers) or only need an interface to transfer data to Floem or other systems.

Dynamic load management with integrated measuring device

Real-time load management dynamically adjusts the charging power to consumption. Available with measuring transducers from 80A to 6000A.

Static load management with fixed current limit

A fixed power limit is ideal when the available power needs to be constant or no dynamic load changes are expected.

Compatible with leading charger manufacturers

New models are added on an ongoing basis.

Reliable load management – even in exceptional circumstances

Our customers rely on their vehicles being charged and their operations running smoothly. CLEMAP products are designed for maximum operational reliability: in hardware, software, and service.

Fail-safe hardware

Our devices have a low failure rate of less than 1%. They are designed for 24/7 use in demanding environments and are fail-safe.

Reliable software

Uptime is 99.9%. Even in the event of a power failure, load management continues to run locally, independently of the cloud.

failsafe operation

If communication is interrupted, all charging points automatically switch to a predefined minimum current so that critical vehicles can continue to be charged.

remote control

If the system is connected to CLEMAP FLOEM, load management can be controlled via FLOEM or temporarily deactivated in an emergency.

Quick replacement in an emergency

Together with our partners, we guarantee replacement equipment within 48 hours if required.

Support

With the CLEMAP Care and Care Plus service packages, our technical support is available up to 24 hours a day, 365 days a year—with response times starting at 30 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I always need an internet connection?

No. The system also works locally without the Internet. However, an Internet connection is recommended for monitoring, billing, and remote access via the CLEMAP Floem platform.

Which charging stations is CLEMAP compatible with?

CLEMAP Load Management supports AC and DC charging stations from many manufacturers. You can find a current compatibility list here. New models are added on an ongoing basis.

Can I also integrate solar power and battery storage?

Yes. PV systems and battery storage units can be easily connected. This allows you to charge vehicles primarily with your own solar power and increase energy efficiency.

How many charging stations can be controlled?

Up to 100 charging points per system. Larger installations can also be mapped by cascading several CLEMAP load management systems.

How is the device put into operation?

After installation, the device connects via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. It is then activated via our software platform floem.clemap.com and the charging points are configured.

Can CLEMAP load management be controlled by the grid operator?

Yes. The device supports external control signals via digital input (24VDC) or via the REST API. This allows grid operators to reduce or block loads.

Which network interfaces are supported?

The following interfaces are supported:

  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n)
  • LAN RJ45
  • Communication with charging stations via Modbus TCP or REST API

How does CLEMAP Load Management communicate with the charging stations?

The system can be connected in two ways:

  • Locally via Modbus TCP: Direct communication in the local network, also works without the Internet.
  • Remote via API (REST API): Control and integration via the cloud, e.g., for monitoring, reporting, or ERP systems.

What happens if the cloud is unavailable?

Load management continues to run locally. Control and security are not dependent on the cloud. Only monitoring and billing are not available in this case.
