Energie 360° Built a Fast-Charging Station at the Landquart Fashion Outlet

7.7.2026

At the Landquart Fashion Outlet on the A13, Energie 360° built Switzerland’s largest fast-charging station complex. Since March 1, 2026, 30 charging points have been available there—ranging from AC charging points for longer stays to fast chargers powered by 100% renewable electricity. To ensure the charging park can operate independently of the building’s power grid, Energie 360° also built a temporary substation.

Background

In the final configuration, two 1,600-kVA transformers will each supply their own low-voltage main distribution panel (NSHV). These two NSHVs are designed to be interconnected in an emergency should one of the transformers fail. Until the permanent substation is in place, operations will run on two temporary solutions: a 630-kVA transformer for the first two 400-kW charging cabinets, and an existing 400-A feed from the parking garage’s main distribution panel.

Requirement

Eduard Burkart, Project Manager for Electric Mobility at Energie 360°, contacted CLEMAP in November 2025 with a request to implement load management at two metering points—the 630-kVA temporary installation and the existing feed from the parking garage’s main distribution panel—and later at the permanent grid structure using the same equipment. In the final expansion, it should also be possible to combine the power from the two NSHVs in the event that a transformer fails.

The initial final configuration includes 2 × Autel AC charging stations (4 AC charging points), 5 × Alpitronic HYC50 (10 DC charging points), and 16 × Kempower satellites (16 DC charging points)—for a total of 30 charging points: 16 fast-charging points up to 150 kW, 10 charging points up to 50 kW, and 4 AC charging points for longer charging times.

Solution

Energie 360° installed two CLEMAP Load Management units—one at each of the two metering points described above. In addition, CLEMAP aggregates the power output of multiple transformers and centrally limits it to a defined total value (“Multitrafo”). This helps prevent overloading at the grid connection point, even when multiple transformers are in operation simultaneously.

The individual charging stations—the Autel AC connectors as well as the Alpitronic and Kempower DC connectors—are also controlled individually via CLEMAP’s Floem web portal. This allows the load to be distributed across the 30 charging points and prioritized, regardless of whether the temporary or permanent grid structure is currently in operation.

Result

The charging station has been in operation since March 1, 2026—following a construction period of 2½ months. The commissioning went according to plan. The challenging part will come with the final substation, when the multi-transformer function goes into operation under real-world conditions with two 1,600-kVA transformers.

“So far, everything has gone according to plan. I was pleasantly surprised that it went so smoothly—we were ready on March 1, 2026, after a construction period of 2½ months. We’re confident that the charging concept will continue to function smoothly even with the final transformer.”—Eduard Burkart, Project Manager for Electric Mobility, Energie 360°
